>>57460376NTA but I always felt that show was extremely overrated, very forced emotionally and too centered around the death of a childhood friend. It's understandable an event like that would have a profound impact onbtheir lives but they overplayed it, especially since children don't have the mental maturity to fully understood the implications of someone dying. IMO the show pinned too heavily on this concept and didn't know how to write the other characters outside of this trauma. For example the one guy dressing up as Hana running around in the woods, like come on man get a grip. Or even the main character being a lazy unmotivated POS because of what happened. I just have a hard time believing these characters who've been THAT impacted by their childhood friend's death.
Most of this would've been excusable if it wasn't for the ending, holy shit was it hard to watchnajd not in a sad sense either. It's was so corny and forced it's laughable, it really ruined the entire experience for me. Maybe I'll watch it again and feel a different way about it but my patience for shows like this have grown thin over the years.
