It's mostly their attitudes left unchecked, nobody with higher authority in the company is there to tell them to their face to stop being fucking retards. Mori specifically sounds super autistic when she snaps at people, she sounds like the men that go "MEET ME IRL BRO U WANNA FIGHT" but worse because she's a girl so she just gets bitchy. They're doing fine right now, but they always have their little moments which is why people get a bit put off by them but I wouldn't go as far as to say they're "hated" on a massive scale. People do shit on Mori's music all the time though, even outside of the vtuber audience. That much is actually true.
