>>57595354Your personality sorta has to match your design to an extent. If you go for a visually wild design, people are in turn going to expect something unique and over the top in terms of personality in turn, and that can get tiring after a while if you're not naturally an over-the-top person. Looking like Luffy and then you come out sounding like a podcaster, it just doesn't mesh at all. Not to mention the artistic skill/money cost of making a more wild, yet still visually appealing character design is a lot higher than some cookie-cutter design. Both cases, a novice male streamer likely doesn't have the experience or the finances to pull off doing a goofy character well. In regards to the professional scene, this mostly has a lot to do with the fact that male vtubers are a risky investment to begin with, and yaoi-bait characters are seen as a safest investment in that regard since a fujo will almost certainly toss some change their way. Since it'll be a snowball's chance in hell seeing a corpo take a risk on some exceptionally wild male character, it also guarantees any guy willing to portray such a character on stream would have to do so independently and out of their own pocket. It would pretty much have to be someone's passion project to go out, spend the money and vtube with a wild and goofy design and stick with being this over-the-top character almost constantly. It's a lot to ask for, and if you're someone who wants to go professional and sign on to a corpo, you gotta get used to being in a yaoi-bait skin anyways, so the draw to be an eccentric character just isn't there for guys.
