https://www.reddit.com/r/holocure/comments/168lh9m/message_about_mods/jywrta4/That's the main intention of my tweet.
From the Pippa mod stream, more people will become aware of mods. Some people might even think Pippa is actually in HoloCure, the actual game. This would be a big problem if we don't officially distance ourselves from that.
We are still a fan game, we are not an official Hololive project. We've gotten permission from Cover to put it on Steam yes, but that does NOT mean we are happily immune from all issues. This means that Cover still has 100% legal right to take us down at ANY moment if we ever do anything that hurts their brand. Cover knows the reach this fan game has, and the fact that they're still letting us develop it without any intervention means they trust us an incredible amount, which we're extremely thankful for. Why would we want to risk doing something that breaks that trust?
If we were to support mods, we would be openly encouraging it, and then we would be taking on responsibility for it. And from that point, we are very, very open to a whole lot of potential issues, if somebody ever wanted to make a mod that's less than ideal.
Better safe than sorry.
