As you can see from these links, Calliope is always used as a given name originating from the muse in Greek mythology, and Mori always used as a surname.

Which means it suits Calliope Mori's theme, but also gives off the feeling of a Japanese name so that she fits in comfortably with the rest of Hololive. There are a lot of names in Hololive where the surname is Japanese but the given name is something exotic like Marine, Flare, Noel, and so on. So I just enjoy the dual purpose Calliope's name serves.
