I like how people still pretend like Hololive is viewed as this squeaky clean seiso corpo and Vshojo is only bad because they're lewd, or something.
Vshojo sucks because they're irrelevant. Despite being consistently at the top of Twitch's metrics their talents only bring in less than 10% of the other big corpos. In fact, they are so irrelevant they get mogged by the very indies they try to poach.
I said it before and I'll say it again. How is it that a nothing corpo like Production Kawaii could become talk of the town for months after several of their talents leave, yet when the same happens to Vshojo no one cares? It's because there is NO BRANDING associated with the company.
If they want to become more than a running gag in the community, they need an image. But because the Western vtuber scene is poisoned by irony, Vshojo will never pursue the idol brand it has, admittedly, excelled at. That will never happen, it will always be a footnote for them because they would rather be a loose collection of personalities than a cohesive unity.
Idol culture isn't about just singing, dancing and acting seiso, it's about unifying the corpo under one goal. What is Vshojo's goal, can anyone really say? Of course not, because all they've done for the past two years is grandfather in talents which bring nothing new to the company.
