I can accept that, but a blacksmith without a forge is kinda useless. There are $100 DIY forges but I don't think they will be allowed to build that inside a bar. I wonder what she will do, now she got me curious.

$200-$300 isn't exactly outrageous as hand made knives go, anon. Pretty much the low end for anything hand made and high quality. You can easily have a budget of twice that, or even 3 times that, and still have stuff you couldn't afford without getting to the point if being legitimately scammed.

you are right, but I was still thinking about those cold iron things someone suggested they should add to their car to run over The Hook. I don't know how much damage could be dealt by throwing knives, might be useful to have plenty of them just in case.

Cold iron is simply hand-forged mostly pure iron. So you actually don't want machinery for it, because then it's not cold iron. You also can't cast it, produce it on a mass-scale, or anything else like that.

As for throwing knives, that's Dexterity + Athletics – Defence, successes as aggravated damage. The Hook has 6 Defence though, and no body has a Dex+Ath dice pool 6+ so that means they'd all be rolling chance die for that attack. Which means only a 10 counts as a success, and a 1 counts as a dramatic failure. So they'll do 1 agg for every 10 throws on average, and as cold iron is a fraility it does bypass armor so that's something. But it does mean they need to lob like 170 knives at the thing. They're also get like 17 dramatic failures too, and depending on how Calli wants to rules those things they might end up killing each other before the Hook. although with 170 turns of knife throwing the Hook will slaughter them all anyway.

Regular iron is bad for fae creatures too, it's just not a agg damage dealing frailty that bypasses armour. But what regular iron ignores is fae-born defences and their magic and defences. So if they invoke a Contract to gain more armour or defence an iron weapon ignores those bonuses. Regular iron is more conceptual than chemical, steel might be mostly iron but it's conceptually steel. The fae are creatures of story and myth, not of science.

Yes, although brass knuckles deal Lethal in 2e anyway, that's pretty much their purpose. Watoto would get fucking ruined in melee combat all the same. He'd be rolling a chance die just like everyone else, but with the added danger of being in range of the dude with a hook hand rolling 15 dice.

Oh, I forgot to convert a couple of things to 2e here. In 2e he'd have 9 Defence. Because you add Athletics to the lowest of your Dex/Wits. Not like it matters, it's still a chance die, but it makes it much harder to hit him. It makes him easier to hit in most other scenarios though as he had 4/4 armour. In 1e armor works a lot different as well, although it's the same for our purposes of cold iron vs the Hook. In 1e armour works as a dice penalty to hit, so an effective 10 Defence, additionally anything bulletproof downgrades all Firearms damage from Lethal to Bashing. In 2e armour isn't a penalty at all, it just modifies damage. General armour removes 1 damage you'd take for each point you have, starting with the highest severity, while ballistic armour downgrades 1 Lethal damage from a Firearms attack to Bashing for each point you have. If you have both, ballistic is applied first. You always take at least 1 point of Bashing damage if the attack was dealing Lethal or Aggravated though. The Hook's stats would likely change a little if he was in 2e, but he'd still be basically impossible to take down in this scenario all the same.

So the reason the Hook is immune to firearms is because he's got bulletproof armour, which downgrades all Firearms damage to Bashing, and Immortal Flesh makes him ignores all mundane sources of Bashing. It'd be the same against a crossbow too, if the crossbow didn't have cold iron bolts. Bulletproof isn't just "bullets don't work" it's Firearms attacks do less damage, and crossbows are counted as Firearms attacks.

That's what I've been telling people. I'm going to paste in a small bit of rules, and then a reference table for all the various abilities. It's just easier than writing the same thing out in my own words. All the abilities have to be represented in your form somehow, you can't have a rivet gun for an arm and just have two normal arms. Outside of that you've got free rein to make your demon form look how you like.

>Form abilities are grouped into four types; Modifications, Technologies, Propulsions, and Processes. Modifications are small subroutines that affect the demon’s ability to perform a task, such as a bonus to a roll with an Attribute or a Skill bonus. Technologies are specialized implants that give the demon the ability to create a specific effect that usually targets only one individual. Propulsions are a mutation that allows the demon specialized movement, such as the ability to fly. Processes are large programs or adaptations that gives the demon a specific action and effect that is usually significant in scope and size, and can affect multiple targets at once.
>At character creation, a demon has three Modifications, two Technologies, one Propulsion, and one Process. The initial demonic form should reflect what the demon did as an angel. Each time a demon’s Primum increases, they undergo at transformation that allows them to gain and lose form abilities, giving them the ability to deviate from their original angelic form. You can remove up to two form abilities from your current demonic form and replace them with new form abilities of the same type each time a new level of Primum is purchased.

The example of Ms. Thermal was this:

Look the Hook is way, way beyond the capacity of even 4 very smart newbie hunters. This is like talking about what tricks a random guy who works at Subway could use to take on Conor Mcgregor in the ring, or how to better fight Freddy Kreuger in mêlée. It didn't come up but the Hook actually has a variant of life steal on his weapon. The Hook might as well be Caine: he's basically a plot device, not an enemy to be overcome. The crew would have a better chance of crafting something clever to drop a building on him, or have a tanker truck explode on him, or hit him with a fertilizer bomb with a bunch of cold iron nails packed in them.

But he's not stupid and he's very, very fast so it really comes down to how cool Mori thinks it is and how she rules it. If 20 frat boys with cold iron bars followed up they might actually conceivably force him to retreat. A lot of problems in CoD can be solved with a ton of dice.

Not really, the best option is really explosives. Hitting him fast enough is really difficult, he's not only fast enough to dodge but he doesn't tend to hang around in places where you can get the sort of speed you really need.

Mythton is apparently built on an Hellmouth since there are Vampires, Wyrm followers, Werewolves, Changlings, Fae, maybe a Promethian, witches, and at least a couple hunter cells plus whatever Gura runs into all in one quiet American city mostly notable for corn. Depending on how Mori stats them a pack of Werewolves for example could actually give the Hook a run for his money.

You can, but at some point the audience would notice the girls getting saved everytime, and there's onlyso many creative ways that Calli can do it without getting caught. WoD is already a lethal game to the supernatural player characters, humans are almost at the peak of squishyness, but as long as the girls learned that lesson and don't jump in to fight everytime, they'll be mostly fine.

Also Mori avoiding deaths for the first season would be fine too as long as she assigns some sort of penalty. She's not just goofing around with her friends in a garage she had to balance getting the girls invested in the game and entertainment too. After the first season she can layout ground rules about making new characters in case of an actual character death. Not saying she has to but I'd have no problem with it.

I guess, I might have read to much into the "everytime" part. They're not immortal if they get 1 session of relitive safety. I'm totally fine with these character having guaranteed survival until everyone is comfortable. I think having a light hand for the first season is reasonable and easy to make plausible: for big fights have a bunch of more powerful allies and redshirts around. Once Gen 2 is around if any of them are interested it becomes much easier to replace players who aren't as into it (cough, Ame) without it being awkward, especially if any of HoloID or a guest star or two wants to join in. HoloJP might be asking too much given language issues and CoD very western based setting.

That's a touch disingenuous, but I appreciate doing the leg work for me. Just to explain what that list means. Anything with a date attached is from the Dark Eras books, which are historical setting supplements. Everything else is from the core books though, bar the Chroincles example which is from the Contagion Chronicle. That's another setting book that is built to provide settings, scenarios, and some mechanics to allow for all the games to play a chronicle together. Which I guess technically means every splat has at least one.

They are, but swords aren't the only melee weapon. There is a full list attached, plenty of melee weapons to use both modern and historical. Guns are also great, although they're not the be all and end all. Melee focused characters can do a lot of great work, they get much fancier tricks than people shooting guns. Although there is a heavy experience cost for that stuff.

8+ is a success. You only need 1 success to do the thing you attempt, but negative circumstances will remove dice from your dice pool. If you get 5 success you gain additional benefits on top of the success. By default rolls will have "10-again" which makes 10's get a reroll on top of their success. Some scenarios will remove this though, but others will grant 9-again or even 8-again. There are also Rote Actions, which let you reroll all failed dice once. Additionally, if you ever have to make a dice roll with less than 1 dice in your pool you use a "chance die" instead. This has only 10 be a success, doesn't have 10-again, and everything else fails, a 1 on a chance die is a dramatic failure which has extra bad stuff happen.

So far as I know these are the only two campaigns that have been run by high profile English language vtubers. TheVshoujo campaigns get derailed too much by their chattering, they're as you may imagine way more lewd and profane, so if you enjoy their content you'll probably love their roleplaying as well. My only issues with their Death and Debts series was Melody not giving a fuck about learning the game at all, even by episode 9 she didn't even know what the fuck her character was capable of doing or how to use basic functions on maptools, she also got mad in one episode and literally started playing roblox, Mouse and Zentreya slowed down the progression quite a bit as well, with Mouse going afk for medicines and Zen taking forever to type her shit and the DM ignoring her sometimes.

The current campaign with Nyanners, Vei, Froot, Haruka and Snuffy is way better in my opinion, they're actually roleplaying their characters while keeping the kinky vibes and dick jokes to a decent level and they seem to actually know what their characters are capable of doing to a degree.

Mori's campaign has been good so far, but It's hard to compare, because this is a side fun thing for her, and she is always busy doing a bunch of crap, Arcadum is a professional Dungeon Master and makes his living basically doing DM stuff, he has a bunch of people helping him create art/music assets and whatever else is needed. With that being said I'm surprised by the memorable moments on this intro missions, if they can keep them happening without overlapping or shadowing each other by actually playing together and maybe having meetings outside of the game streams it's gonna be great.

It's more accurate to say Arcadum delegates 99.9% of the work and only shows up to be the GM and do funny voices. That's why he never does tech checks and is constantly surprised by "a clearly superior VTT" not working the way it should. He also baits for fanart like a motherfucker. Liam O'Brien could take notes it's so bad.

By contrast, you have Mori's game. She's doing it all herself and isn't out baiting for clicks/art/etc. She's using a stable VTT that will only get better once she figures out the macro things. It's clearly a passion project for her and not a cash grab/clout chaser thing like with Arcadum and D&D.

There's a world of difference between commissioning backgrounds/taking fan BGMs and what Arcadum does. Everything from character macros, to token art, to weebshit intros/outros, to map creation, to BGM, to running his Discord, to pretty much any aspect that isn't him breaking another chair with his fat ass is all done by someone else. It's cold, and professional if only because of the production value behind it. But at the end of the day he's still the same Adventurer's League DM that runs the same stories with the same tropes with the same style of characters over and over and over. All he's done is conned enough people into doing his work for him to coast on other people's backs.

Mori's not doing any of that. It's all original save for the BGs and BGMs. There's actual passion behind it. She could have easily clout/number-chased and ran D&D instead. But she didn't. She ran a system that admittedly has a pitiful fanbase and next to no natural streams of content. Because what mattered to her was telling a collaborative story, not some railroaded, regurgitated drek like Arcadum.

Actually, that might be relevant to the Chronicle too. Demons can take pretty much anything as a cover. Animals, plants, inanimate objects, even whole buildings. They don't do this often, it's really risky for a demon for a variety of reasons. Angels do it pretty often though. When the God-Machine commands, at least. Demons can also take on supernatural beings as Covers if they make Pacts with them, but their Cover is as human as possible which means you don't get their powers and it becomes very hard to integrate that Cover back from where it came from.

The God-Machine is part of the simplest splat you can play, Mortals from Chronicles of Darkness. The GM has like 100 pages on it and its works in the core CofD book. Demons taking an interest in it would also makes sense, because it's explainable in more ways and gives Calli more options, and I can't see how Mages are any more easy to "escape" than Demons. Would you mind explaining that last point?

She mentioned in the member stream she took some kind of shot and it messed her up so she won't be able to wake up at 6 am this time. And before that, she also went for about 48 hours without sleep from JP Minecraft Festival into Shadowverse tournament and then went for another day. She needs some healthy sleep and rest right now. Full sessions will probably be at usual time, otherwise it will be really bad for Kiara and Mori wouldn't want that.

Also, the fact that there are next to no threats in World of Darkness that are tolerant of letting you shoot them at your distance of choice, most of them will rush you in melee combat, so unless it's a sneak attack, you might as well prepare for the most likely engagement. Or try and hope both barrels from your shotgun is enough. Plus also, depending on the country in question It's really hard to get guns, and the police aren't going to believe you when you say that no, It's totally for vampires my guy. Honest, officer.

Both cutting weapons and bullets deal bashing damage in chronicles.
Blades doing lethal against vampires that is only a thing in oWoD up to the 20th edition.

defense is the lowest of wits or dexterity + athletics. So you would have to put 4 points into each wits and dex and then put 5 points into athletics for a total of 9 defense. Some equipment can also increase defense further.

Not generally a good idea as it sucks up a lot of attribute points and defense doesn't do shit when attacked by ranged weapons like guns. (Have to have armor for guns).
