>>57702713It's the exact opposite issue, many niches exist for vtubers to fill but Hololive has dominated for so long that most just copy their format for debuts, schedules, collabs, stream gimmicks, merch and so on.
Along with the initial wave of scripted vtuber content there's Nijisanji's first generations who basically did whatever the fuck they want. A lot of that stuff has not translated into today because 1) it's not profitable and 2) you can't manage people who all have different M.O.'s for their stream.
GMod vtubers wouldn't work because the posing tools are not meant to operate in real-time. Femdom vtubers wouldn't work because lewd stuff has a time and place and needs to be spontaneous. Poker vtubers... I mean unless you want to bring vtubing to Stake that just sounds like a recipe for disaster.
People need to look backwards instead of forwards for innovation in vtubing because the industry is focusing too much on business acumen instead of actually advancing the medium's entertainment variety.
