I mean, I could understand streaming to 30ish people as a hobby and just staying there. That's enough to have some sort of chat to engage with. You'll find people talking to a literal empty room in twitch though. Thousands of them.

Even /asp/ males will get at least a steady 2-3 ccv on average. Lots of them will have extended periods of 1 ccv but usually it's balanced out by periods of higher ccv.

Having 1-2 years of 1 ccv pretty much means you both have irredeemably bad stream quality and make no effort to network or promote yourself. Having just one of those is usually enough to get at least some small amount of viewership.

for these guys on average, time being a vtuber is like 1-2 years, but time being a "content creator" is far more, like 5 years and sometimes more (old youtube channels)

This; I choose to be optimistic and feel like there's more than a good chunk of no-view streamers (2D and 3D) who do what they do more to prove to themselves and others that they can do it, or at the very least test the waters to see if they feel comfortable doing it over time.

I find that one of the most common motivations with people like that is that they seek self improvement. Lots of very isolated people will lose their ability to talk well and interact with others in any way. Streaming can help a lot with people like that, and if they are going to be gaming anyways they might as well stream it.

I've got a croatian friend(yes I'm parasocial, so I consider him a friend) who's been fleshstreaming on twitch for 4-5 years now and the most viewers he'll get is 12.
At least there's a chubby muslim girl from the US who sometimes gifts subs to the chat but still.
I've tried telling him to go the vtuber route or apply to be a Homostar but he never listens.
