Im British I wanted to sign up, serve my country and all that. Then I saw how soldiers got treated like shit, while the government and society fawned over "refugees". The country will let you go homeless if you serve it, but enter illegally and enjoy your free house, if you commit any crimes they will cover it up because they can't rock the boat and talk about why crime is going up.
Meanwhile when there is no war you just get told you're bad, men are bad, white men are espceially bad, straights are bad, not letting your kids lop their bits off is bad, etc.
Who defends a country that hates them?
People only enlist for the benefits at this point, and I know military families that broke tradition because it's just not worth it anymore.
