>>58108291It's not really the Stars stuff on Twitter alone which is doing it. It's a combination of factors:
1. Holo fans are increasingly anxious about Cover's efforts to copy Nijisanji and how attempts to have their vTubers collab more with men are increasing.
2. Cover is seeking to 'grow its audience" which means moving outside the traditional market and fanbase. This is sensible for a young growing company which has just gone public. But it's led to fan anxiety that in the future, it will mean less content aimed at them.
3. This gen is being artificially firewalled from Hololive. There are rrats that this is because the gen is planned to collab heavily with Holostars
4. This gen's designs are very generic and there are rrats that this is because they want the girls to appear as unthreatening to femcels as possible since they're meant to complement Holostars and appeal to female fans.
5. Cover has been extremely quiet about what this gen is supposed to be doing and what the plan is, which also fuels the rrats. This is a new Hololive branch that's being introduced, but instead of going crazy hyping them Cover continues to be very vague about what makes them different.
Frankly, I think the rrats are largely correct. After the massive culling of pre-debut subs, Cover has still not done much to publicize them and get people, which suggests to me the intent WAS to make them a complement for Holostars and seed the ground for a mixed gender JP gen 7.
