Hi again, anons. I was the one translating Shibuya Hal's note and did some number crunching after that.
I did some comparing of his Ad Revenue and SCs with some Holo members, and of pure boredom I tried to collect some numbers to compare them a little bit more accurately.
Feel free to skip this if you aren't interested.
First of all I apologize for wrong math. I wrote on
>>5811904 that Hal's Ad Revenue is estimated to be ~53,017,281 Yen, this was wrong math on my part. He got ~75,738,973 Yen from Ad Revenue, making his total income from Ads and SCs alone becoming ~89,287,587 Yen, which is ~80.4% of his total income described in the pie chart.
Now, I tried counting the total SCs and views Rushia got from 2020/06/28 ~ 2021/06/28.
(Data taken from
https://playboard.co/en/channel/UCl_gCybOJRIgOXw6Qb4qJzQ)
Total views (mostly VOD views since they dont have many Video Upload only views) = ~60.588M
Total SCs = 180,914,961 Yen
Now, as with before, assuming Cover takes 50% of what remaining after the 30% YT cut, Rushia got ~63,320,236 Yen in that 1 year period from SCs. For the Ad Revenue, as stated on
>>5806822 the total views on Video Upload only views has more weight than VOD views, and this is because of reason already stated by other anons such as Ad only playing at the start of livestream, even lesser people actually came back to watch the VOD of a livestream, and according Hal himself, it gives less money than Video Upload only views (I have no means to confirm this, sorry.).
Hal got ~42.729M of Video Upload only views, and ~118.204M total of VOD views. He stated Video Upload only views have more weight, but he also said VOD views aren't negligible. On my personal opinion, I will try to assume that the Video Upload only views contribute to 67% of his Ad Revenue, while VOD views give 33%.
With the assumption above, ~118.204M VOD views contribute to 33% of ~75M Yen he got. So how about Rushia? She got ~60.588M of VOD views.
>I've put the disclaimer on the old post that this might differ per Vtubers themselves so this will definitely not be the accurate number. So working it out, from all this assumption-ridden math Rushia made ~12,746,869 Yen from Ad Revenue. The total income she got from Ad Revenue and SCs is ~76,067,105 Yen. For comparison, Hal got ~89,287,587 Yen.
For the closing remark, all the math above hinge on 3 different variables :
1. How much does Cover take after the 30% YT cut
2. The weight ratio of Video Upload only views vs VOD views
3. The CPM and CPV of their channels
Thanks for reading all of this for everyone who did it. After the revelation yesterday from Hal's note that Ad Revenue is actually a pretty potent drug I got interested in seeing whether streamers who rely on SCs for their main income is actually gaining more money than people like Hal who's dishing a new video everyday. I'm actually amused by the fact that even if it was an assumption-ridden math, there's possibility that the 2nd most superchatted channel in Youtube with 1.24M subscribers is actually getting less money from all her Youtube activities than an Apex autist who make vids everyday in the span of 1 year.
Hope all of you have a good day.
