They don't need to play characters anymore. Modern vtubing is just fkesh streamers with anime avatars, unlike the Kizuna AI era.

And yet Fuwamoco has been very succesful while being in character. I wonder why? maybe because people want to immerse themselves into watching real anime girls instead of mean cunts like Enna who always breaks the illusion.

Sure, there are some good vtubers like Fuwamoco or Gura.
But you can't deny that 95% of vtubers now are just mostly fleshtubers grifters jumping on the vtubing hype for easy views. There's no passion, some of them don't even watch anime...
This is why vtubers are ruined.
