That still doesn't mean that most people can't take incremental steps to better their life. Believing that you can improve things in you life genuienly is the first step to improving anything.

People mostly just live on auto pilot and while you can't just pull willpower out of your ass to be a better version of yourself, you can still improve things long term by incrementally changing your surroundings, being mindful of your habits and deliberatly aquire better ones.
