I do not give a single shit that Bart Simpson is voiced by a woman, who uses masculine pronouns while doing so, because as far as I'm concerned, the two are entirely separate unless stated otherwise.
But despite that, we now have a substantial portion of the audience insisting upon treating the character as though it has (dubious) human rights by proxy, through the human behind it, because the human MIGHT want to use that character as an avatar, even if that's not stated to be the case. And now the fact that someone might take issue with this turn of events, or want to question the logic of it, or the social and philosophical ramifications of it, is seen as someone evil or otherwise worthy of exile by those who care, and a troublemaker by uninterested onlookers who don't. Does that not seem ass fucking backwards to you?
So no, if Zen is just a character, then I do not give a single shit about the actor behind Zen, either. But if that person is going to come up in conversation, in the form of Zen, and people are going to attack others for not towing a philosophical line that hasn't even been properly drawn yet, then we have a pretty serious problem on our hands that certainly includes, but goes well beyond, anime titties.
