One of my teachers said to the class that they think we should all go in on the AI stuff and learn it as quickly as possible as a tool, the bridge to cross has gotten much longer and narrower for people trying to get into the industry where only the current top of the top will maintain their position, the middle positions will be semi stable but individuals are more replaceable, and the starting positions most beginners competed over and used to need to get into to ever progress are now more competitive and worse than ever where most people who once would have been able to get some job won't be able to now, limiting ourselves by not using every tool to our advantage will ensure we never get a foothold, and AI is both the cause and solution of this where all the skilled higher ranks are usually old dudes who can't into technology meaning it's the only upper hand beginners can have against them
For animation at least, it's really useful for busting out concept art and stuff for storyboards etc which can take care of a lot of the tiring non animation work speeding up the process even if you do the final stuff by hand still
