There is also a difference in understanding that she and most of the audience grew up with genuine idol culture, not this weird misappropriation by weebs. It's literally a case of content not made for the EOP audience. She wore the mask because she was thought people would say her voice doesn't match the model, and wanted them to get used to her voice first.
