the martyr is only a martyr if people sing praise after they die, elsewise they're held as a villain.
they think they can still influence public opinion and can still dominate the story. the more you hear people say something, like shitting on coco, the more legitimate it seems and the less it seems like she was wronged.
this is how they think anyway, if you don't agree with that mindset take it up with them -- personally i think there is some truth to it.
