It just feels like bizarre compensation and I can't relate to it at all. I have direct ancestors and other relatives that were killed by Germans across a few generations, up through the same time as the Sino-Japanese wars. If I hear some modern German pop song, I'm not suddenly upset. I might make a joke about the language, because it sounds funny, but I'm not upset.
