Most normies do not know or care about the strike. Movies are still coming out, VoD with their favorite TV episodes still exists, there's still 24 hour news for the geezers, and live sports is still happening. By the time the effects of the strike are felt the strike will be over one way or another.
The more simple and direct answer is that they're stupid, lazy, have no business acumen, and don't have anything close to the reach that would be necessary to capture a national audience.
