>>59479452I think the overall sentiment is that I try to express a mindset of someone who has been truly and completely burned out of the relationship/romance fantasy. Call it doomer, red pill, incel, MGTOW, sexpat, etc, but it's the same idea of giving up on any "genuine" relationship and instead opting for a more "efficient" hedonistic path. Quite literally the "hookers and blow" option.
For those who aren't already mongering or moved to SEA/Latam to indulge in the escort/rental GF experience, ASMR offers a soothing alternative as a free, convenient, and easy form of escapism to feel loved and cared for (which is all but impossible IRL). I'm sure many have already also gone down the path of legal weed, onaholes, other drugs/alcohol, and philosophy in searching for purpose, but ultimately wanting to feel loved is a primal need that most find as necessary as food and water. Perhaps it's a result of being brainwashed by Hollywood/traditional family values, perhaps it's due to being obsessed with the ideal of a true beautiful romance (hence interest in romance anime/soap operas, dating sim VNs, and GFE ASMR), or perhaps it's just the last hedonistic experience that is missing from the collection.
I think the biggest "realization" (yes from plenty of introspection/philosophizing) I've had about GFE is that I would never actually want to be in a relationship with one of these girls even if I could. Basically, "I realized what I want is a maid, massage therapist and escort, not a GF/wife". Even for my yandere GFE oshi who creates great ASMR, that is her job, and an IRL relationship would be a disastrous mess. The only benefit of vtubers vs fleshtubers is the kayfabe, the ability for less attractive but talented girls to show off their personality/ASMR skills, the anime weeb aesthetic, and the fact that content is FREE. Anyone who decides to nonetheless pay for free content either is oil baron wealthy, or needs to develop more responsible spending habits.
