with twitch theres not really much algo shit to manipulate, streams are hard sorted by viewcount and recommendations are mathematically sorted by shared followers to the point that even stat aggregate sites can predict your recommendations based on who you follow. really the only thing that befriending twitch admins gets you is a spot on the front page (which, admittedly, is fucking huge, and turns you into a 4view instantly) and possibly things like skipping the line and getting to partner where you can actually monetize your channel.

Originally a magazine reported them. The result was that the court determined that the sexual abuse and other abuse did happen, but the magazine got punished for libel, while the agency pretty much got away with it. Other media was also silenced.
Japanese legal system at its finest.

Also did other illegal stuff like threatening to pull talents out of a show if a competing talent appears (goes into anti-trust and anti-boycott laws), etc.

But they got away with a lot due to their influence.
