Why not try to build up a loyal core fanbase instead? Her views and sub don't seem right at all, and it's because she hasn't fostered a close knit relationship with her fanbase yet. Kiara and Mori have loyal fans and they get PAID a lot for that. Gura has a lot of subs but no one's really loyal to her, she has no paypigs compared to even her genmates. And she can never break Coco's new viewership record unless she finds real fans that care.

Gura's style isn't to demand Rushia style "loyalty" and it wouldn't really work for her audience. Great example of why all the noombers are really stupid for direct comparisons - each vtuber is doing there own things and a lot of the numbers you'd need to understand any of it are proprietary, so you're just dickwaggling based on supers or subs but it's maybe 30% of the picture.

I posted this in another thread but its relevant here.
Gura hates HER because HER "fans" treat HER like cheap entertainment, like a sideshow at a bar. They don't care about her. They only want to laugh at a depressed person who hates their life. They don't want her to change because it means losing a cheap laugh. They want her to stay a broken, frustrated person who isn't going anywhere because that's exactly who they are and don't want to see others succeed. It's incredibly easy to see through this and Gura isn't stupid. She knows these people are shitstains that chain her from progress. Which is why when given the chance to change she took it. There's a clip out there where she says something like "When HoloLive gave me a chance, it felt like someone finally believed in me". It's obvious she knows she had no real fans. Just shitbags with the crab in the bucket mentality.

Why the fuck would she want to wallow in that environment? HoloLive was a chance for her to get somewhere in life. To move on from stagnation. And guess what, EVERYONE should be doing that but very few anons will. And that is why we post on an image board for chinese cartoons.

I remember that. Amelia trying to flatter, Gura trying to brush it off. It really is evident that Gura never set out to achieve it and she feels wrong in a way for doing it. Knowing others were at it for longer and doing more. It doesn't mess with her on stream though, and I think that's admirable.

The only EN girls that actively talk about numbers are Mori and Kiara, which are for the reasons of being thankful for what they've been given and asking themselves why they have so much support.
Mori feeling she needs to keep meeting crazy expectations (and then burning herself) and Kiara feeling like some of it is pity (but then saying she hopes she can convince anyone who joined like that to support her for real) All five of them are good girls.

Kiara's a weird one. I believe she's honestly a very good and genuine person. But she really wears her heart on her sleeve in terms of her popularity thing and its clear it really gets to her that she's the last among her best friends. If she drops that mentality she would be happier but its hard to let go sometimes. She's a very stereotypical girl through and through IMO but her heart is in the right place. For people like us who never talk to real wahmen or are friends with one it's a very different and sometimes offputting experience.

The only things numbers should be used for is being happy so many people enjoy the content. It's not an indication that someone is a better streamer/person or worthy/unworthy of being in Hololive. This is a group which started small and some of the first members got in purely by knowing each other.

I agree with that. It took a little while for me to warm up to Kiara, but I do like her. She's very sweet but her past experiences made her very concerned with proving herself. At this point it may as well be part of her character, always worried that something has conspired against her and she needs to overcome it. It's a little sad to see when it does bring her down but so long as she is having fun, that's good. Self improvement and confidence building is an ongoing process.

According to her, Hololive seemed to have like a "built-in" circle of friends (genmates) and she wanted that, actual caring friends she applied for that reason mostly.
Gura has talked about how her old friends, all of them, turned out to be fakes who only wanted to take advantage of her in a way or other, so she most likely applied in hopes of "cleaning the slate" and start over, new friends, new work, new life, new persona but same familiar workline.

Gura seems to value her genmates as genuine friends. Her impromptu Minecraft stream launching Ina to space is one of my all time favorite streams of hers. Her last TTRPG stream was not only great content, it’s pretty obvious she has a great relationship with Mori too. I think she dislikes that her monster numbers out her on a pedestal, and she seemed happy to play along with everyone at the festival. Hopefully Gen 2 feels more comfortable approaching her

It's also scary how during the MC Summer Festival, the JP members don't seem to consider or view Gura as a kouhai and it took some of them a lot of nerves and bravery to even interact with her. Miko even noted how nervous she was when she talked with Gura and how Pekora couldn't even hold much of a conversation with her. Some of the JP find her adorable in whatever she does as if they are conditioned to view her as such. It's honestly fucking weird once you wave through all the fluff and comfy in that stream.
