Regloss in its entirety has been a marketing and advertising nightmare. First they generate 0 hype with their teaser trailer because it doesn't look like they are teasing vtubers at all. Next, they drop the ball by teasing over days and half the time people think its just a music event or something due to the designs having overlap with other girls. Then we are told that it's a new branch entirely, after cover released that terrible gaming advertising thing, which had huge backlash, so people are led to believe it's going to be something along those lines. Everybody wants information like why it's a separate branch but are stonewalled. Then when they do debut, they're just more holo girls. So far they have done nothing to differentiate themselves from hololive jp. So people out of caution don't even bother since they have no idea when a bombshell will drop, or even if there is one. Ao has an extra hard time because the prince women trope doesn't work outside of anime, doesn't even work for vtubers, because a majority of women who would be into that don't watch vtubers. Women as a whole barely watch vtubers.
Cover needs to tell people what's up or it's just going to continue to stagnate their growth.
