I definitely think the threads for the last few days would've been dramatically worse if we were still on /jp/, for sure. You can see it just by comparing the ones that were up there versus our own.
People get upset by things here more, I think, not because they're actually WORSE than they were, but because the bait that they see is DIFFERENT. After a few months, it becomes really easy to look back at older days and say

But I do still think the quality here has, if not been upward, not been on a downward trajectory. It's just the shitposters are different.
Same reason why I think even the community here will be fine after things like new girls come. It won't be worse, just differently flavored for a time, before it all becomes routine again.
