The humor is exceedingly refined, and without a solid grasp of virtual culture most of the references will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Aki's optimistic outlook, which is skillfully woven into her character - her personal philosophy draws heavily from the harmonious blend of virtual and reality, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of her dialogues, to realize that they're not just entertaining- they say something deep about THE VIRTUAL REALM. As a consequence people who dislike Aki Rosenthal truly ARE ignoramuses - of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humor in Aki’s catchy phrase “Alona~" or 'Mugyu Mugyu!”, which itself is a cryptic reflection of virtual idol culture. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those simple-minded buffoons scratching their heads in confusion as Aki Rosenthal's genius humor unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools... how I pity them.
