Why aren't there more Western VTubers trying to imitate the style or formula of the most successful VTubers in Japan? Is it because it would be impossible due to cultural differences, or have there been cases that went wrong? I admit I don't know too many VTubers, but I've seen many imitations of Gura, and almost none of Pekora, Marine, and Rushia...OK some have a similar style, but it's definitely not the same
Is it possible that Western humor is almost incompatible with the idea of a VTuber with an anime-style avatar?
Perhaps our sense of irony and sarcasm might hinder a more honest and authentic expression. So far, the only opposite case where I've seen a clear honesty in the performance is that of Fuwamoco
