I have no basis for this but maybe she never really understood her fanbase and was afraid of upsetting them so she kept her distance and over time, it just got easier to stay distant until we got to her current state of no communication and no streaming. Also, maybe she's so valuable as a figurehead of Hololive that her contract allows her to do nothing as long as she does important Cover-mandated stuff.

I think it's because she became too popular for her own good. Her PL, while well-known, never hit 4 million subs and wasn't the face of an entire culture like Gura is. She's a natural shitposter at heart too but has to walk on eggshells and watch what she says or else it turns into drama that she would rather avoid. That would burn anyone out and she lost her drive.
