Kotoka is a pureblooded nip with very little english internet experience in over a decade, by her own admission. While she's adjusted really well altogether, she has had a lot of struggles in many ways because she has never been part of the EN sphere until the last year, and she's ESL and doesn't realize the connotations of the things she says sometimes. I get why this can be perceived as a cop-out but that's just how I see it. She was kind of ill-prepared for all of this, which is greatly in part the company's fault but whatever, it's not relevant. She's also not the best at choosing her words sometimes, so she's a lot more coherent and expresses her feelings better in japanese. But most EN viewers don't speak japanese, so that's lost on most people, so I think my perspective of her is probably a little different just from being able to understand her. Again, I get why this language switcharoo shit is an issue for an EN vtuber, I won't deny that.
I never liked Zaion from the beginning, and I like her even less now. Doesn't really matter why. My only relevant opinion is that she is an actual, honest to god menhera so I can kind of understand why she feels the way she does and I do kind of feel bad for her because she is not a very mature person and she's a PR disaster. Which for the most part isn't her fault. From her perspective the entire world is targeting her and all her friends are betraying her, etc etc. and I think she sees ill-will where there is none. I don't really hold any of this against her and ultimately I blame niji for hiring her more than anything because she was not cut out for corpo life whatsoever, and that's something I think everyone can agree on no matter where they stand on all of this. In my opinion sperging out on stream like that was retarded. Addressing anything about nijisanji at any point was retarded regardless of how she was treated there, just for the sake of professionalism, which is what I value a lot for content creators and what she lacks.
As for Finana, she has a mental age of 10 at most (and aspergers). She has a history of doing and saying retarded things, no matter what her motives actually are. Not much else needs saying on that front.
