The only actual live vtuber concert that I know of is the one Production Kawaii did at AX, where all the girls were physically at the venue and performed backstage in mocap.

For something like Hololive concerts featuring many talents who live all around the globe, it's simply a technical and logistical nightmare to make it happen live. It's not feasible.

Well most of all 3D concerts are pre-recorded. But at least it's better than going to Japan and recording your AR Concert then suddenly getting it cancelled because of "covid" and also never get your 3D.

Suisei, Sora, Azki, Mori and i-cant-remember-a-couple-else always do their concerts live whenever possible, with the exception of certain guest sections. Sololives (not youtube concerts) are always 100% live, even if the girls would normally do fully prerrecorded birthday/anniversary/other concerts.

Smaller concerts also have the ability to be live, like Gen5s T4U. But once you add a large amount of people it gets hard to schedule everyone, so pre-recorded is kind of a necessity.

As live as SNL which is prerecorded on Thursday or Friday. If you want an actual live performances you have to physically go to a theater, otherwise it's prerecorded for the broadcast and everyone is just lipsynching.
