Someone like Susan Boyle, for example, always had the talent and probably tried to break into the industry multiple times; but it wasn’t until she got up on tv, got laughed at, and then pushed through it to give a great performance anyway that she made it—because she had a story, she could be sold. There are hundreds if not thousands of ugly, old, or boring women who can sing just as good if not better than her, but they can’t break into the industry either. Cause no one cares about some no name, no matter how good they are.
Big vtubers will always get more opportunities than little vtubers regardless of any perceived talent or skill. No music exec gives a shit what these girls sound like, they care about how well they can sell. And they can only gauge how well they will sell based off of how big they are now, at this moment.
