I understand why all the hololive girls are pretty, but why are all the holostar guys either pretty or handsome anime boys? You'd think with how unpopular the concept has been so far they'd explore alternative designs for their male streamers.

Maybe your eyes need to be checked OP because the only reason they're not popular is because of exposure. I mean literally anybody can find atleast 5k people to watch them daily if they had a clip explode with 1m views, but they haven't gotten that opportunity because it's either to click on a cute anime girl rather than cute anime boy.

Because Cover is deadset on actually being an idol company, even if Hololive's popularity was from comedy. Just look at their latest skit, and how much they invest into the concert stuff. Even Roberu, despite having the most memes involved among the Holostars, said that his bjggest wish is to have a concert with the boys just like Hololive girls.

honestly kaoru is just a bandage to the problem. People clicked on Kaoru cause he was a cute female and then realized he was a funny guy. Also, most people won't click on anime boys because cute anime girls are more ironic and easier to get into, which is why you won't see them blow up with clips. Their growth has to be all natural, well atleast as natural as the youtube algorithim is.

Isn't Suzaku pretty much a runt of the stars, due to his equipment I presume. But then I saw a clip of him singing an English song on YouTube, so yea, things might be different for him had he stayed. Remember that Astel was bottom tier of the stars for quite a while until overseas found out about him.

The only reason they seem like they're floundering is because fujos/fangirling doesn't exist in the west, if hololive never got international attention then homos would probably still be equal or slightly below
