There was a tremendous amount of hype and interest and momentum built up thanks to the JPs' virality, and Myth was the opportunity to capitalize on that and turn a ton of passerby clip watchers into actual consistent viewers. Instead, we got a gen of boring and sometimes cringe asocial autists who not once ever turned out anything as entertaining as the JPs, and most people quietly got filtered out of the hobby altogether. Obviously it doesn't help that Council was only slightly better, or that nothing happened with HoloEN for years besides homos, or that NijiEN fucked things up countless times in their opportunity to act a net to catch the viewers falling off, but the worst of the damage still lies with Myth.
