Nightly Firmament, blossom! [Part 3]
The sun was setting just as Suisei and Miko arrived at their hotel - one they would have been very impressed with under different circumstances. But the time difference, the long flight, the busy airport and the taxi ride through the loud foreign streets had led them to disregard anything but the prospect of the high-class rooms waiting for them.
Yes, high-class rooms - management had booked one each for the business partners, important as they were. They quickly checked in and headed to their only destination for today. They reached Suisei's room first, and so she turned around and smiled at her travel partner.
"Good night, Mikochi. Let's have fun exploring the city tomorrow, okay?"
The taller woman had already gracefully unlocked her card-secured door before the smaller, bigger woman finally spoke up - eager, but flustered.
"Sui-chan, look!"
"What is it~?"
"You know, I...since we're here together on a special trip, I prepared my goodnight text for you in a special way!"
Miko had produced a blue letter from her skirt, quickly taking it out of its pink envelope. She cleared her throat and declaimed:
"Good night, Sui-chan~ North or South, East or West, I feel at home wherever you are! May the foreign bed grant you energizing rest so we, wide awake, can see a new world tomorrow. I love you thiiis much, nye!"
The last sentence featured a large heart, indicated to be 35 kilometers long. But in lieu of showing it to her Suisei, Miko simply stretched her arms out as wide as she could to show how big her love was, facing her business partner with red cheeks and her adorable smile - which transformed into an o-shaped expression as Suisei stepped forward and hugged her Miko tightly. It took Miko a second to overcome her surprise before she quickly closed her arms around Suisei's back and hugged her back, standing up straight to snuggle her face into Suisei's neck and shoulder.
Suisei put her head next to her business partner's and tenderly stroked her back and hair, enjoying the moment they shared and the feeling of Miko's body pressing against her own.
"I love you thaaat much as well. What a little sweetheart my Mikochi is! Cute beyond compare~", Suisei whispered into Miko's ear.
There they stood in bliss, their hearts beating fast.
It took quite a few minutes before the tiredness crept back into their minds. They gently loosened their hug and stepped away from each other, instantly making eye contact.
"Good night once more, Sui-chan! Here, take it with you!" Miko said as she handed Suisei her cute letter.
"Thank you, Mikochi~ Have a good night as well. I couldn't wish for a better girl to go on a business trip with..."
They exchanged one last wink before Suisei entered her room. It looked nice, but she paid little heed to the details. Once she was finally ready for bed and in her cute star-themed pajamas she turned on the bedside lamp and slipped under the covers, feeling very tempted to just let herself sink away into sleep with how soft the bed was to lie on - but she had promised herself to read the cute letter of Mikochi's just once before she fell asleep, after all.
But as she began reading and the words echoed in her mind as Miko had spoken them Suisei's heart beast faster again, a desire to cherish Miko's gift displacing the desire for rest. She read the letter once, twice, thrice, studied the cute handwriting and decorations, caressed it, held it against her cheek...the sleepiness returned to her sneakily, and Suisei was about to fall asleep with the letter between her head and the pillow when her phone's notification sound saved her. Her phone was in silent mode, so the message had to be from Miko.
Suisei opened her eyes, put aside the letter carefully and took her phone from the nightstand.
>Sui-chan, I forgot to pack my Suifriend and I can't fall asleep without her! Can I borrow a Suifriend of yours, please? It's not the same, but it will be enough...I'm sorry, and thank you! Love love love~>I'll find it and bring it to you~ Don't worry about it, Mikochi.Suisei did have multiple dolls of herself among the many she kept in her room at home, and she brought a Suifriend with her on every trip. She quickly forced herself awake and looked through her baggage...it was to save Mikochi's night, after all.
