Moe is similar to Shiori in a lot of way, like how she cared and showed affection to her fans, and how she liked making gimmicky video contents as she was someone who came from doing LP and the old day of vtubing. She didn't exactly put herself out there after the boom, she was stubborn with sticking to her circle for reasons (and even now she's still carrying them with her). I don't think she had any meaningful interaction at all with Nijisanji and Hololive, while barely touching Vshojo, she was like the queen of the ngmi indie. So if you are a vtuber fan coming from the Hololive boom, there's a good chance that you just never heard of her. I'm not going to defend her stream either because they were nothing special, if I'm to be honest. She was best known for her VR ASMR and shitpost with Eilene Family. But not that she didn't put out any effort at all, she tried branching out and re-branding, whether or not she made good decisions was another story.
She definitely had a genuine fanbase, as they are still following her to this day and she's still welcoming them on stream. And don't forget her circle, she made some really good friends there.
Moe could not have joined EN1 or EN2 as they were too early for her, and she hasn't uhh finished her chapter yet, Advent came at the perfect timing for her. Advent was definitely carefully selected and Shiori (and as far as I can tell, FWMC) was in the work for a long time.
Think of Hololive as a magnifying glass, everything she does now is being amplified. Like how her being affectionate is taken to another level, and her gimmicky contents can now be translated to streaming as she now has an audience that will watch her. She's still of course not known for amazing gameplay streams, people love to hear her talk more than anything. She now has a dedicated fanbase while doing almost the same thing she has been doing, and she's also filling certain niches for the branch.
