>>61832564>>61834321I'm gonna make another comparison to extreme metal communities that I'm more familiar with, but I honestly think it'll play out the same way.
You guys were a part of the first wave of fans that was pretty underground. Eventually it got to big and you gained the negative attention of normies who didn't understand and shut it down, forcing you to reconvene in more underground spaces.
Now you're at the precipice of a second wave. It's not as extreme as the first, but everyone who wants to participate is inspired by the first wave; while they might not be as brutal as the first, they do have the spirit and will interpret it in their own, less heavy way.
In the future, there will be the third wave inspired by the second that will be even less extreme and even cheesier. As cringy as they might be, they will be the catalyst for what's to come.
The fourth wave will be a revival where people who came seeking /meat/ will find the current state to be lacking, and they'll decide that if no one's gonna make the content they want, then they just have to make it themselves. Like the second wave they'll have the spirit, only this time they'll also have the passion to recreate something long lost that means more to them than anything else. They'll never be the same but goddamn they'll try.
After that the golden era will be so appreciated and respected that the old ones who built it will come back and we'll all bask in the glory of the long legacy of /meat/ together!
(that last one might seem idealistic but it's happened in other extreme communities before so I don't think it's too far off)
