Was Calli the only one who actively wanted to have early access to the open beta for streams, or was she the only actual female vtuber cover asked and nobody else?

She was likely the only female member interested. The only "fighting game" that other members have player onstream is smash. And the only member that could be called decent at it is aqua. Also I don't think calli knows what she's getting herself into. Guilty Gear's execution is aimed at Japanese people with crippling autism.

Disregarding that she is a known Johnny main, Calli, I think, would be a good test of Strive's accesibility to new audiences, something that Arcsys professed to struggle to do with the series.

I've been playing Arcsys games since #reload. ArcSys' has been trying to make their games accessible since persona. But adding autocombos isn't actually making games accessible. Also, the fact that they have no idea how to balance games and only a small part of the cast is actually viable in every iteration of their games also means you constantly have to drop and learn new characters. I've accepted that they have no fucking idea what they're doing and that their games will always be on life support in the west 1 year after release.
I suspect that Calli might try going online after doing the tutorial and finishing arcade, encounter guilty gear veterans and get double perfected. Assuming the beta even has an arcade and tutorial mode.

Also, matchmaking filter will be off for the betas, so Calli can be matched will any player in the world.

The matchmaking will be fine, there were plenty of bad players the last time and it was a much more exclusive beta test. Strive also still has pretty high damage, and the wall break mechanic should make sure that she doesn't just get knocked down once and oki'd to death. The beta is pretty robust too, so worse come to worst, she can just sit in training mode and show off characters.
