Niji vtubers are in no way inferior to anyone else in the industry (no one really shines in the vtuber scene anyway, mediocrity is the rule from top to bottom, for both EN and JP). They're fine entertainers hampered mainly by shit management and rrats escaping containment and entrenching in the community outside /vt/, generating ill will towards them through toxic brand recognition. Even Aia would be a beloved 4view in Hololive with no changes to her current content (except dropping the male collabs).
Worse, I don't think NijiEN has a chance for a brighter future. The JP side would rather shutter the branch than improve the conditions there, and even if they opted for the latter, the western scene will forever view them as a black company now. There are too many active anti voices out there for any changes for the positive to be noted. The talent needs to get out and get a fresh start elsewhere to have a chance at growth again.
