There IS circumstantial evidence to believe that she got picked up by Cover, as the timeline does seem to match up and (most) people don't just scrub all their old streams on a whim when they're ostensibly just "on hiatus". That being said, Nami could also just as easily be a regular member of EN2 rather than the Vsinger; in fact, I would actually be more inclined to believe THAT theory in particular, since her voice/personality don't really fit with the overall image presented by IRyS' character and setting.
People are just guessing about the Vsinger specifically because we got the Vsinger first, making it topically relevant, and because Nami is an oldfag utaite who established herself through singing (i.e, if they were going to hire someone for a musically-focused position, it probably wouldn't be say, Fuzuki Miki). There isn't anything that says Nami has to be the Vsinger in particular (or in Holo at all, technically), it's just a convenient time to speculate about it in the current moment because we just got the announcement today.
