Think of it like this, remember when you were younger and your mom was attentive to everything you did? Get a cut? she's there in seconds to check on you and make you feel better. Feel sad about something? She's there to try and cheer you up. Feel proud about something? She's there to bolster your achivement and make you feel even better about it. People want to lose control, they want to willingly give that control to someone they trust and get unconditional acceptance and love in return.
Some take it way father and turn it into shit like baby play or whatever, but that's the extremes.
