Liking a vtuber in the sense that you would for a comedian you enjoy watching is ok.
Liking a vtuber in the sense that you would a close friend, lover, or even as a sexual partner to an extent is stupid.
The difference the former and latter is that the latter you place expectations on. You expect them to care about you as much as you care about them. You expect them to be on an equal level more or less to you. As much as saplings hate to hear it, it's partially like fauna said. Streamers are not friends. They're entertainers. You can become friends in the same way you could technically become friends with a celebrity on TV, but the chances are slim and unrealistic.
