>>62314362what the fuck was Eilene thinking? what are all those retarded decisions?
I'm sad I missed a lot of this saga. Used to have /a/ and /jp/ as my home boards before vtubing happened. I saw early Eilene, the Ebola-chan videos etc and the /a/non testing "this new technology called Live2D" by fapping with it. By then I was tired of nu-/jp/'s ironic shitposting and railgunspam so left it and missed the start of vtubers in there.
Years after someone on /a/ mentioned nyanners was a streamer, so I got nostalgic despite the loli betrayal thing and checked her out, she was a low 3view nobody using an steam workshop idolmaster model. It was fun and nostalgic so I kept watching.
In one of those streams, she raided another vtuber (who's still a current /wvt/ indie, though /wvt/ wasn't a thing back then) and that's where I learned that what they both were doing was "vtubing", and what hololive and nijisanji were.
I searched the boards and found people talked about vtubers in /jp/. This was before holoMyth debuts, when holo 5th gen was new. So I started watching mostly Haachama and Miko.
Later on, /hlg/ led me to small indies, and that to awareness of Natsume Moe, so it sorta went full circle.
The older vtubing is, the more are we gonna see these kind of journeys and vtubers from one place popping out years later somewhere else, twists of fate like that. It's crazy how connected the whole scene is. Like imagine telling 2018's /jp/ that Rushia was gonna end up in a western company with nyanners, they would've said you were a turboschizo.
