I don't know how servers work since I only bother to chat with my friends in it as an alternative to texting, but I tried making my own for the specific purpose of having a personal server that'd notify me of waiting room reservations and tweets immediately.
It worked for like three weeks using Baqua, but then out of nowhere it just didn't work. Everything was still "set up" but it just never worked, so I reinstalled it and reset everything and it worked again, but only a week this time. Rinse and repeat, but after a few more times of breaking I gave up.
My Oshi's discord has notifications immediately sent out for tweets and reservations and such so I'm just using them now. Though I wish I knew why Baqua kept breaking or if there was an alternative.
