The message people assume she's sending seems to be more important than the cover itself. Remember that people assumed she's just copying Haachama when her teaser released, or that it's Kanata coping with Coco's graduation.
Obviously Kanata loves songs that she relate to, she's never been shy about admitting it. It's been a staple for her covers from day one. Don't remember people overanalyzing Byoushin wo Kamu that way despite it also having a personalized MV, certainly not to this extent, that's why it seems strange to me. Obviously both were very personal to Kanata and it made the covers especially good, so much work went into both of these. I love how thorough Kanata is with her covers.
For me Kanata crying on The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku on two different utawakus left a stronger impression of her feelings.
