This. People forget how isolated she was before, treated like Hololive royalty but also not one of the gang. Now she has a lot of friends across branches. And Suisei becoming the face of Hololive and doing this idol dance project is probably a relief for her as well, she doesn't have to carry the brand to the same degree anymore.

But Sora, realistically, has not carried the brand in years.
Matsuri was the most popular Hololive member at one time.
Then Gen 3 happened and they shattered every record and metric and catapulted Hololive to true celebrity status.
Then Gura happened and is, debateably, still happening and is the face of Hololive as she has the most subs.
Kobo happened/ID3 in general happened.
Her coworkers always seemed to like her, but she never did many collabs before unless it was on big things. Did the company loosen the leash like they did on Azki?
I'd say she being "less seiso" starting with her black hoodie outfit made her more popular.

Putting aside any speculations about her own priorities and thoughts, her character ages in real time unlike a lot of the girls so she's officially a young adult these days. From Sora to Matsuri there's a 9 months gap, and if you know anything about business the first few weeks and months, even days, are WAY more important than afterwards, Sora really didn't carried the brand for very long, but she carried it through the worst moment aka the beginning

I'd say it took until this year for more fans of Hololive in general to start liking and watching Sora, and that aren't pretending to be excited at her mentioning because their oshi mentions her or whatever. Prior to this year it seems the members themselves liked her more than actual fans. Thankfully it has changed.

I think people underestimate the amount of time she's spent carrying the brand. Most people are pretty familiar with the early period when she was basically the entire brand before some of the gen 1s started carving markets, but she was still the face of sponsorships and events for years after that even as other girls started establishing fanbases.

There's a level of technical ability and professional familiarity Sora has that a lot of the girls just never caught up to even when they pull in huge stream numbers. Even now every year when we have holofes, Sora shows up and there're tons of fans shocked that she's actually capable of eating the entire stage instead of just being an ornamental idol.

I just like seeing other members reactions to her being a little spicy. I'm sure she gets a kick out of it too. I think one of my favorite moments was during one of the holofes's when a panel of members were watching footage from the con, and when the camera panned to the cosplays on display, they all were a bit taken aback by how ero her default outfit was when seen IRL.
