I have a higher average CCV than my oshi but I only oshi girls who promise not to collab with guys. I would never in a million years collab with my oshi even if she offered to and I'd probably oshihen if she did offer.
Fags like you will never understand .
It isn't *actually* about the males.
It's about a desire to support/love somebody other than yourself but to not do so selflessly/one-sidedly.
Girls in this industry from top to bottom know the general layout. Everyone who is relevant to conversations here knows what the term "unicorn" means, that they exist, what their expectations are, etc. And they know how much of an issue it can be for both themselves and their fans. Whether out of displeasure over content changes, jealousy over the interaction, or annoyance and anger over fueling potential drama and mockery, every EN vtuber is aware that starting to do male collabs or having a boyfriend is something that in almost every case would provide a net negative impact to the emotional state of her current fans.
Vtubers idol culture influence gives it what a lot of current viewers who watch it to the exclusion of all other types of streamers; there are people who want to escape bantz and jokes and well-adjusted social interactions where you can't give too much of a shit about things and can't not give a shit about others.
We're here because we enjoy the unique emotion of caring for a streamer who cares about her fanbase. Respect and concern and devotion and jealousy, hell even obsession; these are considered good here(within reason) because it inherently means that the streamer and audience are engaging in the unique emotional selling point of the medium; a genuine emotional relationship developed underneath the cover of an entertainer-patron relationship. Genuine respect. Genuine desire to make each other happier. Genuine care.
If you do a make collab in the current climate, you know that the girl that didn't care about her fans as much as the girl who never will in some degree. And most people aren't stupid enough to assume that unicorns are some kind of exception; at the end of the day, adhering to expectations you believe you are held to by somebody is a critical sign of caring and wanting you to be there and stay there. If she can tell unicorns to fuck off, everyone knows she can do that to absolutely any other group if she chooses to.
Mixed gender collabs are inherently a sign of a vtuber(for both the girls and guys involved btw) who cares for their fans less than the "standard". And because we are here because of the "caring" part, people who violate the standard can often seem to degrade what makes us happy here in the first place.
/vt/ doesn't hate males
/vt/ hates people who don't care about other people
it's why people can be so vicious, and why we attract sociopathic manipulative assholes who have a schadenfreude addiction(dramaniggers), and why we deepthroat bait like a vacuum, all these have the same reason;
/vt/ is based on a hobby designed to be the opposite of a "internet hate machine"(whatevers left of it)
Vtubing is a way for us to love people while still having personal expectations and therefore being able to not feel as if our love is exploited
vtubing is a out how it is okay to give too many fucks in a world that gives too little fucks
vtubing is about reminding yourself that you don't actually enjoy the level of distance people expect
/vt/ just wants to watch people who actually cares, because they know it isn't impossible
