>>62941795So even now I don't understand.
If someone was invested in the parasocial relationship enough to care about what she said here, she actually got more parasocial here and talked about her darker emotions and even went as far as to say that she genuinely wants her fans to love themselves and not neglect themselves. That should be a positive, then, as she basically opened up even more about her own insecurities which she said was important in relationships and confirmed that she cares about her fans.
If someone isn't invested in the parasocial relationship, then they literally shouldn't care because the statement holds no value to them coming from someone they don't care about during a superchat reading segment that they shouldn't care about and is never brought up again. Which is more confusing because I keep seeing people say "i already know that i don't need her to tell me I just want a pure fantasy and acted character"
You would need to simultaneously:
1. Have no emotional investment in Fauna and the absolute minimum parasociality, as this was her getting closer to her fans.
2. Want VTubing to be purely live-animated anime, rather than a balance of the ideals of anime characters and the depth of real people.
3. Be aware of the nature of the relationship between a VTuber and their fans and accept that as reality.
4. Despite being minimally parasocial, watch her more intimate streams like SC readings which you literally should have no reason to do if you're only interested in the fantasy.
5. Find a statement that you have stated you accept as reality to be devastatingly harmful to your mental perception to hear.
6. Despite no change in content before or after that moment, consider the entire product completely and retroactively destroyed.
7. Despite 1, 3, and 6, somehow still be talking about it almost an entire year later rather than moving on.
It just seems weird.
