I've been out of the scene for some time now, but I put together one back in 2012 for about $1.1k, and its lasted me until now, and going strong. You do, kind of. Post gen 3 all the talent's avatars are made with significant input from the people playing them. I don't know if they get to choose their character designer or if they just work with whoever is available, but they definitely aren't given a character to play like in the old days.

Honestly her weird visual style is what does it for me, not even her rigging. She doesnt seem to have a hint of shadowing on her entire model and the style seems to stick out like a sore thumb compared to all the other girls. Shes almost transluscent.
