>>63057937>try watching other tubersNTA but I have watched more (non-1/2 view*) vtubers than probably most of this board can even name and the "magic" you mention is literally when you find the vtuber who gives a fuck about their viewers so much that they literally can't help but do GFE. GFE is the pinnacle of vtubing but the fake ones are also the bottom, it's an alpha/omega situation. But not once have I ever found a vtuber to be entertaining. Most things aren't entertaining. I've laughed out loud at entertainment maybe a 2 digit number of times total, and most of those were only from the funniest jokes or two of an absolutely phenomenal stand up comedy special from comedians who are well-known to be at the top of that industry. I think people are confused about what being entertained means. It's like saying that something you respond to with "LMAO" or "kek" is entertaining. But you didn't actually laugh at the thing you responded with those messages to. There's probably a good chance you didn't even change your facial expression. Acknowledging that something is humorous in nature doesn't mean it was humorous enough to break through your humorous-enough-to-be-genuinely-entertained-by-it threshold, and that threshold is way too high for any streamer to break(unless you're autistic or something and clap at youtube videos of magic tricks)
Being actually entertained is one of the rarest forms of mental stimulation/gratification possible to get from content. People who say that they watch vtubers and streamers in general for "entertainment" are usually either lying to themselves to protect their ego and cowtow to their tribalistic impulses, or are actually retarded enough to laugh out loud at shitposts on 4chan and think that it's okay to be retarded just because there are so many fucking other retards.
GFE is far more capable of the type of emotional engagement it is intended to provide, even if the type that does so is rare. Because while it's rare, a vtuber who can make a person with an actually functioning brain laugh does not exist, same is true of streaming in general. Most of my actual laughing is done when I'm hanging out with friends, which people sometimes compare streams to, but It's like people here don't realize that 90% of the reason you ever laugh while out with friends is because of the way being physically in communication with people in a social setting flips switches in your head to get you laughing at shit that you literally wouldn't laugh at if it was just something you watched on a video or whatever.
