>>6318833I prefer some amount of competition instead of a Niji monopoly, and I don't really think there would've been any different if it had been some other group like NoriPro, 774, or whatever else to take the place of Holo since they would all go into the idol stuff anyways.
Getting rid of rrats, clip-only EOPs, /v/, /pol/, /r9k/, and numbers would be pretty good, but if it weren't for them we wouldn't have NijiEN, and it's arguable whether Niji would've been able to to continue to grow the hobby within Japan only. The "boom" has undoubtedly also helped Niji with the algorithm since they've grown a lot since last year too, just that Holo grew a lot more.
Ideally, I would have liked Niji to have had a stronger foothold in the west so people don't associate vtubers with just cgdct and idols, but it would've been impossible anyways. There was no way CN was going to clip them since most JP had no interest in their CN fanbase, and if they weren't successful in JP, then I would've never even heard of them.
